What is a loss assessor?
We represent claimants professionally. Loss assessors are specialists in their field who are best placed to help you when you have had damage to your property. You are their client, so they work for you with your interests at heart. Loss assessors work to ensure you receive the full entitlement of your claim, and without such representation, you may never get the full value of your financial loss.
Why should I contact a loss assessor to help me?
Insurance companies appoint experts to act on their behalf—loss adjusters—whose job is to minimise the value of claims. We have repeatedly seen significant undervaluation of claims by these firms. Many now use so-called validation companies, where unqualified “surveyors” are sent out who rely on you to identify the damage. This places the burden entirely on the claimant. As loss assessors, we ensure every cost is accounted for, secondary damage is included, and you’re not left footing the bill. Our service reduces stress and typically increases the final settlement.
At what stage of my claim should I contact a loss assessor?
Ideally at the very start of your claim. This is the moment your insurance company will appoint a loss adjuster to act on their behalf—not yours.
What will you charge me?
There is no charge for our initial no-obligation survey. If you choose to retain us, we operate on a pre-agreed percentage of the claim on a no-win–no-fee basis. Our fee is only payable after you receive your settlement cheque. Our work typically offsets our cost through better outcomes, and many policies allow for professional fees related to reinstatement.
How long will my claim take to settle?
Every claim is different. Our aim is to settle claims within 6 weeks. However, delays from insurance companies, particularly on complex cases, can extend this timeline. We work as quickly and thoroughly as possible to reach a fair resolution.
Will my insurance company object to me using my own assessor?
No. It’s your right to appoint your own assessor. Doing so will not affect your claim in any negative way. Some insurers may point out that they won’t cover assessor fees, which is standard. Others may recommend only using FCA-regulated assessors. We are fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and committed to protecting your interests. Premier Property Claims Ltd is proud to meet this standard.
